Do you seek financial compensation when a company/bank/etc gets it wrong?

And if so, what’s the most you’ve claimed? I will do this with banks and energy companies etc but I realised today that I’m probably in the minority… most of my colleagues said it wouldn’t even occur to them!

Yes if I’ve paid for a service that they didn’t deliver or wasn’t to standard. Usually for things like cancelled appointments that I’ve waited in for etc.

Most I’ve claimed was £150 from a boiler company who ruined my flooring with their blow torch. Was great as we are going to get rid due to redecorating and originally I didn’t complain but they made a few errrors and other damage so I made them pay. Otherwise it’s been like £30/£40 compensation from en every suppliers for missing engineers/being without heating for extended gines

My brownies unit got £250 from Natwest 2 years ago as they were completely incompetent. I didn't even need to go to the ombudsman.
