Afternoon tea

How would you create a lovely afternoon tea if you cannot bake? It's my Mum's 60th next year and we are going on holiday, there will be 6 adults, and 6 kids and thought it'd be nice to have an afternoon tea one of the days with cocktails and prosecco etc.

Should add the holiday house is very rural so no option of getting on delivered.

Buy everything from marks and Spencer or Waitrose! You used to be able to get sandwich platters and amazing cakes from marks and Spencer for parties... I'm not sure if they still do it but I'm sure most of not all of the supermarkets do some kind of catering service. Have a Google and book in advance. There are also Specilized companies that will send you an afternoon tea, but they are probably more expensive xxx

Also, you can pick up the day before the party! And prices used to be quite reasonable

If you can throw money at it, Rick Stein do a lovely afternoon tea delivery box

Whereabouts in the country are you? Even rural areas have surprising local deliveries these days

Cornish Cream Tea do deliveries, we’ve booked rural cottages, as long as there’s a postcode, they can find you.

I would second using Waitrose and M&S for cakes

alsi for ready made sandwiches, but a selection of 6 boxes, there are 2 in each box and you’ll cut into 2, so 4 triangle of sandwiches from each. Giving you 24 sandwiches to arrange.

purchase small cakes, plain scones, French jam a couple of pots, clotted cream

now is the time to purchase Buck’s Fizz from M&S and save

some tea, order a few nice boxes of tea and get a nice China tea pot or set if you can

id look for a couple of stands to purchase to arrange everything

if you went to lindon for 6x afternoon tea you’d be looking at around £400-550, so purchasing a few things to make it really special and you’ll still have an inexpensive time.
