11-20th roughly. I basically mentally split a month in to thirds.

1-10 Early
11-20 Mid
21-31 Late

Hesleepswiththefishes · 06/12/2022 21:10

jimjimmyjimbo · 06/12/2022 21:13

Thanks all. I'm starting a new job and this is the proposed start date (I'll hear hopefully by Friday an official date) just wanted your thoughts. I would rather enjoy Christmas without the anxiety of starting new job immediately into new year so I'm hoping it is 10th onwards

Ps I'm nervous already 🤣

startingline · 06/12/2022 21:17

Monday 16th jan

LaughingCat · 06/12/2022 21:22

Erm…the middle bit of Jan. probably around 11-18 ish. Good luck in the new job - great Christmas pressie for you!

MarmiteCoriander · 07/12/2022 21:38

OP- if they did turn around and said, how would starting Jan 2nd or 9th sound- you could always propose starting the week later. Their 'proposed' date should not be set in stone, so don't feel pressured if that doesn't work for you. You might be wrapping things up at previous job, taking a break before this job etc etc.

They have spent a lot of time recruiting, interviewing and want YOU- so starting a week later makes little difference in the scheme of things. FAR better that than you getting to the agreed start date and then email and say 'no, I won't start at all., I've changed my mind'. (This happened to me as a hiring manager and I'd waited over 5 mths to fill the role due to her needing to give 3mths notice, advertising the role, inter time etc).
