11 year old and domestic abuse

Please don’t flame me. I’m at my wits end.

My 11 year old daughter is hitting me, kicking me, pulling my hair and biting me nearly everyday over really trivial things.

I’m a single parent. She is big and strong and can over power me.

I don’t know what to do and she is scaring my 9 year old too. She’s damaged the house and broken so many things.

She seems fine at school.

Bumping this for you, but I have no advice sorry other than have you actually spoken to the school? Speak to the SENCO and get advice where to seek help. Has there been any major life changes that has triggered this behaviour?

Hopefully some experienced posters can help.

Please speak in confidence to the school and see if they can refer you to Children’s Services for Early Help - this would be voluntary support. You wouldn’t believe how much Children’s Services are seeing of exactly what you describe

I have heard good things about this service via my work. So sorry this is happening to you, have you spoken to school?

She went to secondary school in September but I don’t think that was the trigger. She’s been difficult for sometime but it’s just got progressively worse over the last couple of years. She’s had a bit of counselling but Im starting to think it’s more complex. Thank you for your guidance.
