Smart home stuff to link with a Samsung phone

I am clueless. DH hankers after smart home stuff that turns on plugs and whatnot. He has a Samsung phone but we have an Alexa too. What should I start with?

Light bulbs. It’s ridiculously pleasing telling Alexa to turn the lights on and off.

Just the light bulb. We have Philips hue ones
