Can't remember short ghost story - driving me mad!

Can anyone help me?

I read a short ghost story on the Internet a while ago. I thought it was from the book Haunting Season (compilation of short ghost stories) but it isn't and I'm racking my brains as to where I might have read it.

Basic plot is a girl is restoring something in a house (think it may have been a mural or furniture). After she's done, all those she loves and cares about turn against her and resonate hate. That's all I can remember. Can anyone tell me the title and author? Many thanks. 😊

Is it from eight ghosts the English heritage collection? She restores some wooden thing and then everyone is disgusted by her and she kills herself?
