Hullo!

I'm heading away for 3 nights from Manchester and the parking is eye watering

I'm happy to leave my car on a tram stop car park or on a road (preferably not too residential as don't want to impact on residents).

Not looking for free parking necessarily, but it'd be great if it was cheaper than the flights Grin
And not too far from the airport as it's a really early flight and a 2 hour drive.

Is there such a wondrous place? Hmm

How early is early? What time would you be having to park the car?

I'd go for a street, rather than a park and ride stop, for security. Which direction/motorway are you coming from.

yoshiblue · 06/12/2022 16:39

Metrolink park and rides tend to only allow overnight on a Fri/Sat, I don't think that's doable for several days.

We have tended to book the long stay car park at the airport, Jet Parks are an option too?

I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable leaving my car for days in a residential area, nearest suburb is Wythenshawe and its not very safe for that!

I wouldnt park on a residential street. There have been massive issues with so called "legit" airport car parks leaving peoples car on residential streets and they have been vandalised.
How much is the car parking OP?, I think you'll have to suck up the cost 😥

FrodisCapering · 06/12/2022 16:48

There's free parking to be found around Didsbury. Not in the village but slightly further out within easy walking distance to the tram

gettingolderbutcooler · 06/12/2022 17:07

Can't you Google parking spaces? I think there are quite a few where you can park on a private drive etc and might be cheaper?

Starisnotanumber · 06/12/2022 17:18

For stupidly early flight metrolink is no good as first tram from Manchester is at 5.5

Starisnotanumber · 06/12/2022 17:20

Sorry 5.54

Or try and park near wythenshawe forum, tram stops there for the airport

Ahha thank you all for your replies.

I think I'll just suck up the cost - save fannying around and for safety.

Thanks though.
