Can I learn to enjoy exercise?

I’ve never exercised in my life, I’m overweight and I’d like to make a change.
Has anyone trained themselves to enjoy exercise? Or at least feel ok about doing any? I don’t feel safe walking around my area in the dark once the kids go to bed, so I need to do something at home, or maybe even swimming before I commit to a gym membership. The older I get the more I realise how weak my body is so really need to do something about it. 😓

Marking place. I’ve never found a form of exercise I enjoy. Not a single endorphin has manifested itself. And I have tried.

Yes! A class might be a good idea, I met lots of people there and I go primarily to see the people, but obviously have to exercise while I'm there.

I also did Couch to 5K with another friend and again went for the chat! The achievement was amazing and now I'm a regular runner.

Couch to 5k then parkrun, all about community. You can stay parkrun straight away, lots of people walk it.

Yea you can. I’ve always been slim and shapeless and lacking strength. I took a Classpass free trial, and tried out different t classes. Hot yoga is what resonated the most. It was painful and strenuous to begin with, but it’s something I adore and do at least 5 times a week at my studio. My body is the strongest it’s ever been, but I’ve gained so much more emotionally and socially. I also love that there are all body shapes and backgrounds there. Give exercise a shot. It will feel difficult at the start, but it requires discipline.
