Best supermarket party food? What have you tried so far?!

Love a bit of party food at Christmas. I had a girls night a couple of weekends ago and we got the Tesco Finest paella bites with some sort of dipping sauce the tempura prawns and the mac and cheese bites. All were delicious I have to say!

Was at a do last weekend and the hostess had been to M&S so I sampled the brie and cranberry filo tarts and the Thai fishcakes.

Has anyone tried anything else this year that they would recommend? I think we might just have some party food on Christmas eve as we have a busy day.

I had the Aldi stuffed mini naan breads at a party at the weekend. I was impressed. I really want to try the Christmas dinner croquettes in Sainsbury's. I usually make my own but not sure I'll bother this year.

Aldi mozarella sticks, by far the nicest.

Ooh what are the stuffed naans stuffed with? That sounds lush!

Can always fancy a mozzarella stick. Are those frozen?

I appreciate you’re really looking for savoury nibbles but if you’re near a Lidl then the emptiness of this packet speaks for itself…

Yes we have a Lidl and I'm also open to sweet nibbles. I'll have to try them, I love almonds.

I'm normally a huge Aldi fan but have always found no comparison to M&S parry food. Their mini kievs and mini pies are divine! Aldi sell the same product but M&S have a slightly higher meat content (but also almost double the price!)

AtleastitsnotMonday · 05/12/2022 21:47

It was these Mini Naans.
They are veggie and filled with curried veg.

Givenhud · 05/12/2022 21:51

Yeah I looked at the m&s party food but the prices are getting ridiculous now. I would probably pay it for Christmas eve though as a treat. The kievs sound lovely.

Aldi is always good, and my DP loves Waitrose and M&S, but I've always said for years that the best party food is always Iceland

Pretzel coated cod bites (Aldi) are lovely.

Not really traditional party food but could be....COOK bacon wrapped stuffing balls are absolutely incredible.

Closedlips · 05/12/2022 22:17

Aldi mini chicken bakes and steak bakes!

Rainbowshit · 05/12/2022 22:23

Has anyone seen the cheese wrapped in bacon that M&S and a couple of other supermarkets used to do. I miss that.

Tatapie · 05/12/2022 23:31

Has anyone had any cold canapés that are good please?
