I’m shortly selling my car, the 2nd MOT in September showed c19000 miles, and now the mileage is 19500, in keeping with my 400/500 miles per month. I’ve noticed that the MOT history shows that in September 2021, the mileage is mistakenly noted as 23500 miles. I didn’t notice at the time and out of time for garage to change it, plus I have no evidence of what the actual mileage was. The service book shows that my mileage is consistently around 5000 a year. I overlooked the service this year though so the last documented mileage outside of MOT certificate is around April 2021.
Is it ok to list it with an explanation of the descrepancy? If I’d “clocked” the mileage then surely it wouldn’t have been to reduce an already low mileage car by just 4500 miles!
Does anyone have any experience of this?
