They are an abomination. We have a lovely driver, who assures me 90% of the issues are in the warehouse. He say's people are now just turning up at the warehouses and demanding to look for their own parcels as they are sitting in shelves not being loaded onto vans.

I know some of the drivers are terrible though from our towns Facebook page. Every day there are several posts, people asking "is this your door" or "does anyone know where this is?" with a picture of their parcel being handed to a stranger. How hard can it be to get an address right? Once...fine. Multiple time per DAY? Nah.

Sarah2891 · 06/12/2022 10:34

I've actually never had a problem with Evri. All parcels turn up fine

AnneShirleysNewDress · 06/12/2022 10:44

Definitely depends on your courier. We have 2 here, both excellent.

dizzygirl1 · 06/12/2022 10:45

Oh I'd rather have evri than royal mail at this point

superdupernova · 06/12/2022 10:52

I've never had any issues with Evri. A few late parcels but we're talking about 30 minutes late not days late.

Nancienoo · 06/12/2022 10:54

It’s a joke and the you complain to to the retailer and they don’t care either 🤷🏼‍♀️

This has been over a week late and I’m not holding my breath for my Royal Mail parcel

The problem I'm seeing is that they're getting parcels to the delivery depots which are so overwhelmed the parcels are just accumulating there faster than they can be delivered. I've sent out two parcels that are now stuck like this.

nauticant · 06/12/2022 10:57

That said I sent a parcel by Royal Mail over two weeks ago and that just disappeared.

HenryHooverIsMyDH · 06/12/2022 10:59

Our Evri courier is great (though have probably now jinxed the Sports Dirext delivery due this week…).
TNT on the other hand Hmm - I am trying to get my DD’s passport delivered, they have “tried” four times now (I was in the kitchen next to the front door every time and no one knocked, and they left a photo of the wrong house one of those times Angry). Each time the delivery slot is 8am to 8pm. I’m going to drive 35 minutes later to pick it up from the depot.
Warning - don’t tick the box on the passport form for secure delivery…

HenryHooverIsMyDH · 06/12/2022 11:00

Phew, good to get that off my chest - thanks OP Grin

StaceySolomonSwash · 06/12/2022 11:02

The couriers are on their knees as they've got the traditional extra parcels for this time of year plus a lot of companies have switched to them because of the Royal Mail strikes and they're struggling to deliver. I know a lot of online sellers have shut up shop for Christmas earlier than usual as they can't promise to fulfil delivery. Either that or have to refund customers for "missing" parcels that will arrive late. It's a shitty situation all round.

fatsinglereadytomingle · 06/12/2022 11:15

I think they're all a bit shit EVRI used to be good round here but they've recently lost 2 of May parcels. They leave them on the door step which is on a main road and on occasion have thrown the parcel up the drive to the front door (confirmed on cctv)

DHL have lost a parcel and couldn't give 2 shits. It's an important part of a gift due on Friday and it's been kissing since 29/11. Sender is trying to help but need DHL to confirm it's not going to turn up before they can send a replacement.

Laffinalltheway · 06/12/2022 11:16

My Evri driver is pretty good. He never knocks on the door but will automatically walk around the back to the garden gate, opens it and leaves the package leaned up against the kitchen/garden door. Only complaint is the door opens outwards, so to retrieve it I have to go out the front door, walk around the house to the back and pick it up, otherwise when opening the back door from the inside I'd knock it down three concrete steps... Oh well...

@vodkaredbullgirl Fuming I paid for next day delivery

Our Evri courier is fantastic

I had an email from them on Sunday saying that my scheduled delivery from them was delayed - it still turned up!

i use parcel2go when I’m sending things. They have a page showing the current situation for all delivery firms. It’s not great and I definitely wouldn’t be paying for next day delivery atm www.parcel2go.com/service-updates

inappropriateraspberry · 06/12/2022 11:21

It's pot luck, depending on how good the local delivery guys are.
I sent something I sold through Vinted, luckily only £2 worth but it got lost weeks ago! Have finally been compensated, as well as the buyer.
Apart from that, I've had no other issues sending things, and our delivery lady is very good. Local, knows the area and knows the people.
I don't think the strikes have helped as everyone finds alternatives from the Royal Mail.

Iheartmysmart · 06/12/2022 11:25

My Evri delivery lady is absolutely great and nothing is too much trouble. The man who delivers for them occasionally is possibly the most disorganised person ever and it’s quite amusing watching him trying desperately to sort out his deliveries in the back of his van. Royal Mail are currently shit.
