How long is post taking?

Just wondering with the strikes going on how long is a reasonable time to wait for first class signed for to be delivered before worrying?!

Sent my passport off on last Monday morning first class signed for but appreciate there were strikes on Wednesday and Thursday. Seen a thread where someone said their passport had been stolen out the mail so this has triggered my anxiety!

Going abroad in March so hoping to get my renewed passport quite quickly.

How long is post taking in your area? (This is going from north east down to London)

I just got a birthday card - my birthday was 2 weeks ago (and I've seen the sender in person since!)

Ages! I’m waiting on something the seller confirmed was sent Royal Mail first class (just a large letter not a parcel) on the 28th November, there’s still no sign of it.

I posted a card first class to DS in newcastle (from windsor) and it took a week

I just received something today that was sent first class on Saturday.
However, the recoded delivery item that was posted to me on Thursday 24th November has still not updated from its initial ‘received at X post office’ tracking message.
Things that are just dropped in the box seem to be getting through quicker than items that need signing, all my other mail has been arriving but not the tracked mail.
