Questions re money gift from abroad

My dad is giving me a gift of approx 7,000 euros after selling some family property. What's the best way of sending it to the U.K.? Do I have to pay taxes and if so, how does it work?

No UK tax for you to pay on receipt of gift. Your dads position will depend on where he is resident and domiciled for tax.

Thanks, Eastereggs1. My dad lives in a EU country and boats no tax in the U.K. Will he has to pay anything additional when sending me the money, or can he simply do a transference and forget about it?
