Not a boast.
We pay our very last mortgage payment tomorrow.
That will mean we have £688.72 more per month.
Going to put some away for the proverbial rainy day
and use some to improve our lives.
As we are in our early 60's it will help us a lot.

That is brilliant. Congratulations!!!

Dh and I complete on our purchase tomorrow, exciting, but we'll be repaying until we're 70.

Aww that's awesome news well done 🙂 We have just over 3 years left on ours, unless we sell up and buy somewhere else (I'm only 39). Sometimes it puts me off going through it all again and can't wait to be mortgage free 😀

FuckOffPeroids · 04/12/2022 17:32

Congratulations! That must be a brilliant feeling Smile

Roselilly36 · 04/12/2022 17:32

We cleared ours at the start of November. It's such a brilliant feeling. Such a relief to have some financial breathing space.

gogohmm · 04/12/2022 17:36

Snap, well mine is Tuesday, going to the bank tomorrow to send the final payment (from divorce settlement). It's a great feeling

BMW6 · 04/12/2022 17:39

It's a fantastic feeling, no more worries about interest rate rises!

Nanatokidsdogshampsters · 04/12/2022 17:47

I'll admit we over the years extended the mortgage getting a bigger and bigger house.
Did downsized a few years ago but we still had a small mortgage.
Started off in a 2 up 2 down.
Then to a 3 bed semi.
Onto a 4 bed detached
And finally we are in a 3 bed bungalow.
Tomorrow DH has booked us in for a celebratory meal.

The relief we will feel tomorrow is indescribable.

That’s amazing!!

Make sure you do something special this Christmas to make it one to remember and you can look back and say that was the year we paid off the mortgage 😁

piedbeauty · 04/12/2022 18:02

This was us in the summer. A month later our child finished private school.
The relief is palpable.
We have plans for much needed kitchen and bathroom renovations.

Well done 👍👍

It is a nice feeling not to have to fork out the mortgage every month

No doubt you have worked hard to get to that point so enjoy the moment 👍👍
