What can I take to relieve these symptoms…

DH and I had a lovely meal last night but due to eldest DD needing picked up from work, we ended up eating later than usual.

I wouldn’t say I had a huge portion but with wine I did feel quite full afterwards and after failing to get comfortable on the sofa came up to bed and fell asleep like a dead weight, until around 3am when I woke up feeling awful…

it was like my entire meal was sitting in between my rib cage, I wasn’t sick but very nauseous but could feel food riding up, no burning feeling just very sicky with this uncomfortable sensation of a rock in my middle…

I woke up this morning like I’ve got a bug, freezing cold and still feeling quite yucky. I think I’ll feel better if I could relieve the full/rock feeling but not sure what to take…

I wouldn’t describe it as acid indigestion as no burning sensation so don’t think something like rennies or Gavascon would help but what…?

Pepto Bismol. Pink liquid.

Charcoal tablets always help me.

That's what I've always felt like with norovirus. The vomit might come get. You'll feel better when you have been sick and then it's usually over for me pretty quickly after that. Get well soon

I was like a few weeks ago - it felt like my food (and wine) hadn't digested and was just sat there waiting ....to go one way or the other .

I was at neighbours house - suddenly knew I was gonna be sick and legged it home ! Felt better after that .
Does the food still feel like it's sat there going no where ?

I would go for a walk, doesn't have to be a long one but try for an hour or so if you can manage. That will help with gastric movement

Drink plenty of water - if you are sick it will neutralise some of the stomach acid so shouldn't burn too much.

Salamander91 · 04/12/2022 16:30

I'd try an antacid. You're not always going to get a typical symptom. I suffer with reflux but my main symptom is burping 🤷‍♀️ rubbing your stomach clockwise can help get things moving.

Deflatine might help
