Passport renewal with name change ?

Does anyone know roughly how long a renewal with name change to married name is taking roughly just now?

DH has accidently book tickets in my married name for mid-February and I'm not sure whether to risk trying to renew the passport or to try and change the ticket name. Its just over 10 weeks til the fly date, but obviously Christmas during that period.

They say to allow up to ten weeks for passport renewal - it sounds stressful trying the usual way. I'd either try the fast track route or change the tickets, whichever was cheaper, I'm not sure I could take the worry of not being able to go!

Did mine recently and it took about 3 weeks, that includes having to send some additional documents to them. The service is very quick.

I just renewed one online..but with no name change that only took a week to get here..l was very impressed.
Might be easier to change name on holiday booking.

Thank you all, I've managed to change the name on the booking rather than risk the passport not coming back in time.
