Has anyone ever shopped at Shien?

Never really considered them as heard negative reviews about quality/time to deliver/return items. However a number of people have recently recommended them esp for items such as holiday clothes. Anyone had any experience buying from them?

Total crap. Rubbish fabrics and odd fits. Wouldn't order again.

JaneFondue · 03/12/2022 23:48

DD was tempted by them. False economy. Nasty fabrics and slippery. Looked OK on her but then she is a young size 6.

OrangePomander · 03/12/2022 23:50

DD bought a trouser suit. Surprisingly delivery was quick and the fit was good but the quality was awful.

ilovepixie · 03/12/2022 23:50

I love it. I've ordered quite a lot and it's mostly been good. You can return stuff you don't like. I'm 54 and a size 22. The delivery time is about 10 days.

wesayno · 03/12/2022 23:50

No, I have standards.

justasoul · 03/12/2022 23:53

Bought a couple of things for DD, one was ok, the other was dreadful but it was for some cosplay she was doing so didn’t have to be brilliant. She also picked up a skirt from a charity shop from there and that was fine.

TheGriffle · 03/12/2022 23:57

A lot of the fabrics are synthetic but for the few bits of clothing I’ve ordered from there the fits been very good.

They're good for unusual gifts, kawaii stuff etc. I’ve bought bags, drinks bottles, hair clips, bobbles, jewellery and some fidgets from there and they’ve all been fine/good quality.

Got2besoon · 03/12/2022 23:58

One thing ok the other hilariously larger than it should have been (a size 8 jumper that was like a giant bin bag) and completely different shade to in the picture.

sandyfrog · 03/12/2022 23:59

Maybe watch the documentary then reconsider

Nancienoo · 04/12/2022 00:00

I really like Shien it was crap years ago so didn’t order of there for ages, recent order was good what I got was good quality

RhiRhi1996 · 04/12/2022 00:01

Its hit or miss. Certain fabrics/materials I know to stay away from now. Sizing can be up & down too. But I do like it there overall - some stuff is really good. Especislly the gym wear.

It does take long delivery time but it comes from China or something , and it does tell you it takes about 2 weeks , and it is always within that time frame so you can't complain.

Over all I'd recommend it , as I've learnt to be able to tell a mile off if the material is that shitty cheap looking material or not so now I can buy accordingly :)

SpinningFloppa · 04/12/2022 00:01

Yes it’s very good

TeapotTitties · 04/12/2022 00:01

Ethics aside for a minute

The quality isn't all crap. Some of it is absolutely fine but it's so hit and miss, so quite risky really.

Their reviews do have real photos though, so you could probably go by those if you want to buy something specific.

RhubarbStrawberry · 04/12/2022 00:02

I order for dd15 and she likes it. Not had issues with delivery. We've not noticed the clothes falling apart or anything

Parkmama · 04/12/2022 00:21

Yes I've ordered quite a few dresses, skirts, jumpers, summer sandals, jewellery, tops, things for the DC and a few household bits and have really liked it all. I've sent a couple of things back and easily got a refund. The quality isn't amazing, you do get what you pay for, I probably wouldn't buy a coat, a handbag or boots for example but it's ok for lightweight and knits. Delivery can take over a week so keep that in mind.

Isthisexpected · 04/12/2022 00:24

Only if you have zero morals.

Alvinne · 04/12/2022 00:32

It's fast fashion, but then so many of the affordable companies are. Morally they are also probably no different to the other cheap brands available in the UK. I've ordered from there and been surprised that the quality was better than I expected. Many things I bought 3 to 4 years ago from shein I'm still wearing regularly.
The quality is on a par with George at asda/tesco/new look/h&m etc.
The best thing to do is look at the real photos people upload and check the measurements to make sure you get the right size.

Alvinne · 04/12/2022 00:34

Avoid the make up and nail products though
