What books are your 16yo & 18yo sons enjoying?

I'm stuck for book ideas for my 16yo and 18yo's Xmas stockings. Maybe thrillers, but with relatable characters, not too violent or graphic - a good story, but with short chapters that they can digest easily. (They're bright boys but don't devour books and will only read for a few minutes before bedtime). Any suggestions?

At that age DS1 didn't was read for pleasure other than occasional
books by mathematicians and physics books.

DS2 was and still is reading fiction for pleasure. He and I often read the same things. Lee Childs Jack Reacher books, Stephen Leather Spider Shepherd series. Ken Follett, Isabelle Allende.

Have you tried Joe Hill? Cool horror writer. He wrote Horns, which was made into a movie starring Daniel Radcliffe.

Fun fact: his dad is Stephen King.

Thanks CheesyBeans1. I'll check him out.

Any more suggestions out there?

Writers like Kurt Vonnegut, GRRM, James SA Corey, Robin Hobb and Patrick Rothfuss are all very popular writers with men of that age group.
