Do you think it's ok to drink out of a plastic bottle all the time?

I do this. I have a favourite bottle and I carry it around the house with me & usually fill it about 3/4 times a day (as well as the odd tea & coffee). I don't want to change it as I don't like new things (my bottle's well 'used' in appearance). My friend saw it today & said I need to change it for a glass bottle asap because it really isn't healthy. So if I keep this long term am I really doing myself harm?

I’m no scientist but also getting increasingly worried about microplastics ao I’m with your friend, swap for glass or metal.

MrsTerryPratchett · 03/12/2022 18:04

I wouldn't but it's BPA free so it could be worse.

I just think glass is so unreactive and has been used for so long, it's the best option.

Allthegoodnamesarechosen · 03/12/2022 18:04

It’s easier to keep glass or metal clean.

Glass or metal for me.

emmathedilemma · 03/12/2022 18:05

I do, but also BPA free bottles and I wash them daily. Glass is not practical for carrying round in bags and the gym!

I would swap for a glass one

cantthinkattheminute · 03/12/2022 18:06

If it works for you then use it. I had a glass one that I loved but unfortunately it shattered in my bag one day when hubby was holding it 🤦🏼‍♀️

I drink out of a similar, bpa free bottle all day at work and have never worried about it.

splatfrog · 03/12/2022 18:08

Yeah, I don't like that glass can break easily but it's also cold to hold. I suppose I'll have to keep my eye out for a replacement that works for me. I also really like the style of mouth-opening on this bottle which is different to regular metal/glass bottles that I've seen.

Glass or metal all the way

BamBamBilla · 03/12/2022 18:11

I prefer an insulated metal bottle because I like cold water and I don't like cold hands.

BobbyBobbyBobby · 03/12/2022 18:13

As long as you wash it after use you will be fine.
