What’s everyone up to this weekend?

We are watching Xmas films.

Had a busy week so went out and did my errands first thing and now laying on the sofa under some blankets. Having a curry for tea.

Nothing as usual as DH never wants to do anything. Angry

@MeMyCatsAndMyBooks leave him too it then. Not having a pop but why does he get to dictate your weekend?

Bestcatmum · 03/12/2022 16:26

Doing overtime for double time. I need to pay for some work on the house.

Multipleexclamationmarks · 03/12/2022 16:27

I've just baked some mince pies just because I'm hungry 🤣 apart from that not up to much today. Going to a carol concert tomorrow, it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Still in my pjs dossing on the sofa. I've come down with the cold/flu bug that's doing the rounds so dosing up on painkillers and feeling sorry for myself

Because I have nobody else to go out with and do things with. Dying to go out for a meal and a few drinks, but would be rather sad to be sat on my todd.

Had a long lie until 9. DH on shift today so he left at 5.30. Sorted the towel shelves, done a couple of washing's, few hours work, took DD1 to train station as she's off ice skating with a pal, made dough for pizzas when DH comes home, now watching Harry Potter with DD2. So basically, fuck all!

@MeMyCatsAndMyBooks there is absolutely joy to be had in having lunch out by yourself, couple of glasses of wine and then afternoon film at the cinema.

Moonshine74 · 03/12/2022 16:42

It was our work Christmas party last night so I've managed very little today! Just waiting for the food shopping to arrive and wishing I'd added a bottle of Diet Coke to the order 😁, otherwise just wrapping presents!

MrsKeats · 03/12/2022 17:04

DH is working abroad this week so I have the house to myself.
Took the dogs to a dog park this morning.
Then a bit of tidying up and now dog sitting for my dd as she's out for the day,
Contemplating a takeaway for dinner.

@MeMyCatsAndMyBooks I think it's important in that situation to develop your own identity.
I have cancer and (especially today as it's chuffing freezing) I am reluctant to do stuff at the weekend. My DP has been to play golf this morning and is at the pub with his friends now. It's good for his mental health to go and do some things.
He lost his mum early and his dad sat for twenty plus years because he had lost his identity and confidence. Don't let him erode yours. If something happened to him what then?

XmasElf10 · 03/12/2022 18:37

I am recently single and not feeling my best this weekend but determined to cheer myself up. Today DD and I did some Xmas craft and put up the Xmas tree (she’s 11 and good fun!). I took her to her Dads this afternoon and I’ve made dinner and am watching TV with my dog. Tomorrow I’m going to spend the early morning out walking with the doggo. I might get lunch or brunch in a pub and I’ll possibly do food shopping and some cooking in the afternoon.
