I have a bunch of receipts not yet in date order

Can I fill out an excel cells with date, amount, name etc then at the end do something techy that puts all rows into date order for me?

Yes, just select the rows you want to sort and use the sort function (can't remember which menu!)

I have an A-Z or Z-A option
I thought it was as easy as that too but I may need to highlight each filled row and lock them first?

Yes, very simple. Once data entered (presumably with date in first column) just highlight the lot, right click the mouse, select 'sort oldest to newest and 'enter'. Job done.

Select all the cells in yourtable, go to custom sort, in there Select the column with the dates and sort oldest to newest.
