Toothache type pain near my eye - not sure what to do

I've been unwell with a monster cold for the last few weeks. Have now developed a toothache type pain around my eye - it's kinda round my cheek and temple. Started on Thur and isn't getting worse (but also not better) and is only on one side. I also have a bit of actual toothache on that side too.

Tried the pharmacy yesterday and they said maybe sinus pain but weren't sure.

Currently on hold to 111 (going on 20mins!)

I have anxiety and it's really freaking me out- it's not bad pain (maybe 3/10, but I'm a wuss!) but hurts more if I cough. Not sure if I should just go to the walk in clinic or what!

Hi Leaky. How are you? Hope you got through to somebody and they were able to reassure you.

It sounds like sinus pain to me. But better safe than sorry.

I've had really bad sinus pain before that felt so much like toothache I had several emergency appointments before they concluded teeth were not the problem. If your not pregnant you can take decongestants to clear it.

Snot is greeny brown. 111 were no use - I kept getting cut off after 30 mins so never managed to speak to anyone.

It's gone for now but if it starts again I'm just going to the walk in.

Sounds like when I get a herpes (cold sore) flare up - cold symptoms and facial nerve pain. Or could be shingles. Both viruses lives in your nerves and. I take lysine when it flares up.

If you get any kind of cold-sore type breakout near your eye you would have to go to the Dr.

This is exactly my experience of sinus problems. Exactly the same. I went to the dentist too, thinking it had to be toothache. Take sinutab. Lemsip also really helps. If you develop a red,hot patch on your face or a fever or other signs of infection eg. bad smell from your nose or mouth you need antibiotics.

Oh weirdly enough I have a cold sore on that side. Didn't make the connection!
