It depends on the wording- some are valid before x date in which case I'd say no but if it's until x date or use by x I'd say yes

If it's UNTIL the 5th surely that would be valid until 1 minute after midnight on the 4th.

If it expires ON the 5th then it would be 1 minute after midnight on the 5th.
