Husband thinks I'm overreacting about babys temp

It's 35.5 under one armpit and 35.8 on the other. Is this too low for a baby??

She's 9 weeks old and has had mucus in her throat for about a week but otherwise been okay in herself. She hasn't been having as much of her bottles since she had her first jabs last week, usually takes 5oz every 3-4hours but she's been having about 3 instead and going slightly longer.

We've all had a cold like virus and sore throat, don't think it's Covid as my son only had it a few weeks ago and we were all negative. Can't be sure though but have no tests. She hasn't had a wee since about 5ish, she's just had 4 oz and gone straight back to sleep. I want to call 111 but husband says she is fine because she's drank her bottle. Freaking myself out as I know low temp can also be a sign of illness in babies.
Her usual temp is around 35.5-7

Mine is 36.2 on the same thermometer which seems low for me too, maybe it's the thermometer ? But it's the lack of wees that concerning me too

There's absolutely no harm in calling 111 for advice, @majorltworrying - that's what it's there for. You have a tiny baby and it's natural to be worried when they seem ill or their normal patterns change. Tell your DH you need the reassurance and give them a call.

AutumnCaramelApples · 02/12/2022 23:38

I’m not an expert on low temperatures. The lack of wees would concern me.
I’d say go with your instinct. If you think something isn’t right, then get her checked. Call 111 if you’re worried.

SouperNoodle · 02/12/2022 23:38

You need a new thermometer for sure. 35.5 is not a normal temperature so if her usual is that temp, you need to buy one that works correctly. Infrared forehead thermometers are more reliable.
If you feel the skin on her chest and it's a normal temperature, I wouldn't worry.
I would be more concerned about the lack of wees though.

majorltworrying · 02/12/2022 23:49

Okay maybe I've had a freak out - the skin on her chest feels warm and I've just checked her nappy and she has thankfully wee'd!
Have used 3 different thermometers now on all of us lol, dh and mine are 36.8 on the ear one and babys is showing 36 and we're all 37.1 on the forehead one.

Glad all is ok after all! Go have a cup of tea xx

majorltworrying · 03/12/2022 00:06

Thank you. I do have anxiety anyway so I know I am prone to worrying but it's the fact she hadn't had a wee either that set me off I think !

I've been through the same with both of mine! I also have anxiety and tended to worry when they were tiny.
Keep an eye on her nappies and if you're not happy, get her checked out but I'm sure she's fine. They like to make us worry haha
