I’ve got £50 on one of these stupid cards, so think I’ll just get rid of it on M&S and get some stuff delivered.
What Xmas food/drink would you recommend ?

Good luck with that I thought I’d use mine to buy wine from Tesco. I carefully entered all the details online and I Just get “ card not verified”. I prefer the gift vouchers the Bank of England make the ones with the Queens head on the ones you really can spend anywhere.

I’ve been told that you can use it like a normal card, as long as you know how much is on it.

Whats wrong with them?

They are very difficult to spend. So many rules and loopholes and don't always work.

These cards are so much faff!! I have one on Apple Pay and it's now charging me 90p every month. How can I spend it? Can someone explain how to use these cards in very simple terms please? X

They are like a credit card, and you need to know exactly how much is on it so the retailer can put it through. I had one I checked, which said £9.60 but a few days later, when I went to spend it, it was down to £8.70. This was a card that started off with £15 and I didn't realise they took 90p a month!!

Get it spent as soon as possible.

The other thing that annoys me is that you cannot top them up so must spend less and you end up with money left on them gggrrr

I got given one through work and converted it online to a gift card for another store (I chose John Lewis). Was able to buy something more than the value of the gift card too.
