Toys ideas - 8-10 year olds

I’m providing a charity with some gifts to give to disadvantaged children in the area for Xmas (kinda like a food bank). They’ve asked for toys suitable for 8-10year olds; boys & girls.

I’ve a budget of around £50

Any ideas?

or parents of 8-10year olds what would you definitely NOT want gifted?

thanks in advance x

Thanks for the suggestions!
I especially appreciate that those ideas would be suitable for boys and girls. I had ruled out battery operated items as batteries are so expensive I wouldn’t want the parents to feel guilty if they didn’t have the funds to replace them.
great ideas thank you!

Have a look for ideas on the Christmas forum.

My almost 8yo loves Lego, games like Star Wars Monopoly, Blokus, Battleship, Dobble, Top Trumps, Uno, books, action figures (Marvel, Star Wars and Minecraft), a football, drawing materials.

As a pp said avoid anything that needs batteries.

Squishmallows

Table top air hockey or table football. My 9 and 10yo can happily play for a couple of hours, and it’s big enough to feel like a wow present. Costs around £15-20

Squishmellows, anything Roblox or Minecraft related, scented pens, tamagotchi.

A nice ball, football or frisbee? Mine likes games so dobble, labyrinth, frustration etc

I agree about a football .
There is a true story about a child who loved to kick a football about as he didn’t have any other presents.
He became one of the most famous football Premier League players we know .

Excellent ideas. Thank you so much! It’s given me good direction for the shop today. Especially love the ideas of dobble, squishamallows, football and if I can pick up a table top game or two I will do.

cheers!
