Is this blue mold? Or just a mark?

I do get a bit of health anxiety so bare with me please!

Noticed these blue marks on my wall!! They weren't there yesterday! Was just a little concerned it's mold

But I don't know how as it's an indoor wall, in my bedroom which is very very warm and well heated etc..

I was rifling through my bedside cabinet earlier and chucking loads of things to the side to through out. I don't know whether I maybe rubbed against the wall with something?! Or else myself rubbed against the wall in the blue jeans I was wearing ( as you know the way sometimes you can get a blue stain from denim)

Call me down here as I do have health problems so always worry about the effect mold would have on me!

Is this blue mold? Or just a mark?

We get black mould regularly and it doesn’t look like that. I’ve not come across blue mould though…

LeafHunter · 02/12/2022 18:55

Have you tried cleaning it off? We wipe away the black mould and it comes off easily.

Mabelface · 02/12/2022 18:55

It's a scuff on the wall.

@LeafHunter - thanks for your reply!

It is an inner wall so I was sort of hoping it wasn't mold as if it were it would be more likely to be on my outer walls (it isn't)

It did just appear after me doing a good clear out of a cupboard right next to it...so I'm just thinking I may have somehow managed to do it.

@LeafHunter - no almost afraid to as it would send spores flying everywhere etc! I know I sound over the top!

@Mabelface - I thought it was hopefully I scuff but it is blue in colour!!

I've never heard of blue mould

WitheringTights000 · 02/12/2022 19:29

@AriettyHomily - really?! You get blue mould on food etc!

There's no such thing as 'Blue Mould' and as it's an inside wall it's won't be mould anyway. (Not unless your house has no damp course and the walls are running with condensation !)

Mould doesn't grow that fast and you'd smell the damp before anything appeared.

Best bet is that it's a scuff mark off something with denims being a likely culprit.

HTH

@Ladyintangerine - thank you so much for your reply. It just really alarmed Me as it appeared all of a sudden, hopefully it was me earlier.

However, if I Google blue mould on wall there are photos that come up...so it must be possible to get blue mould on walls 🥴🥴

Just found another MN thread from a few years ago ...unsure how to link but the title is 'blue mould with furry bits in my DD's room'

Was sort of freaking out that mine looks similar?!

If this is really bugging you OP ask a damp-proofing specialist to come round and have a look, that should put your mind at rest.
They probably to no-obligation asessments.

sorry, 'do', not 'to' !
