BFN 8dp5dt - am I right to think I’m out?

I am 8 days post a 5 day frozen embryo transfer. This is the equivalent of 13dpo, so in a natural cycle my period would be here now. (However AF has not started and I’m not spotting etc as I am on progesterone injections which is preventing my lining from shedding.)

Am I right to think that as the FRER was negative this morning, I’m out? Even on the natural conception threads I don’t think I’ve seen anyone get a FRER BFP on 14dpo, which is what it’ll be tomorrow!

When are you booked for post transfer hCG bloods? I had them done at 13dp5dt with my frozen cycle and at 7dp5dt with my fresh cycle (only because we were still in the country where I had my treatment so the clinic offered it as an extra to the rest of their services) and then officially at 13 & 15 days.

A week tomorrow, which is 16dp5dt! Which is just crazy to me, I have no idea why my clinic does it so late.

It is sensible, unfortunately, to avoid you getting your hopes up and it being a chemical.
Good luck, I well remember that wait.

I understand, it does seem particularly late compared to other clinics though.

Ah well, I guess I am out! Wine it is tomorrow then Smile

That does seem late but, as PP says, it’s more sensible than testing too early. When I had my early blood test on the second cycle abroad, the consultant said that even if it was negative, I couldn’t be certain it was confirmation it had failed as it’s very early to test. As it happened, for us, it was positive and very high for that point in the process and the consultant told us to be aware it could be indicative of a multiple pregnancy - and the pair of noisy 3 year olds next to me in bed this morning is testament to that!!

Until that blood test, or AF arrives, you can’t say for sure that you’re out and that’s the hardest part of waiting xx
