Alternatives to Royal Mail

Has anyone had success with any alternative companies? Yes I know RM are striking (and I do have sympathy) but even without the strikes I am fed up of paying for next day delievery guaraneted by 1pm and them not turning up until later, or in some cases getting totally lost.
I can't use email for these documents as they are sensitive. Anyone any success with alternate companies that aren't too pricey. Thanks

So, I'm guessing no one is using any alternatives for sending small /A4 packets?

Anyone?

I’m following to see if anyone has some good suggestions - we run a small business that relies on Royal Mail so we desperately need an alternative!

I think the problem is that there probably isn’t a good cost effective alternative hence the no replies!!

For ebay stuff I'm loving Evri

I sell on vinted. Evri are shockingly bad. 4 parcels missing in the past month as both a seller and a buyer. Inpost takes 4-6 days. DPD are pretty reliable but they're not great atm with the volume of pre Christmas packages. Royal Mail even with the strikes have continued to be most reliable

I wouldn’t go with evri for sensitive documents, I got handed something last week for the wrong street from an evri driver, luckily realised before he left!

Last time I had to do this I ended up paying a family member to take the documents as was urgent and only a couple of hours drive. Could you do something similar?

Labradinger · 02/12/2022 18:49

We alternate between Royal Mail and DPD local with stuff we send from work. They’re always pretty good and usually around the same price as Royal Mail. They give next day delivery as standard. Only problem atm is that I went to book a delivery the other day and they’ve suspended all uk services due to picking up slack from RM which is a right pain for us
