Read. Knit. Walk in the woods. Run, sometimes. Climb hills. Take photographs. Lift weights. Catch the train to the coast and cycle home. Go to gigs.

ThatGirlInACountrySong · 02/12/2022 15:32

My garden! 🪴

ImissSclub7 · 02/12/2022 15:35

Exercise is my happy. Being able to put makeup on properly not rushing with no children crying, fighting or needing something. A bath with fake candle lights that flicker, favourite tunes and a nice drink with ice cubes, again with nobody needing me.

DenholmElliot11 · 02/12/2022 15:36

Definately definately need to look for it outside the house.

Just get outside and do something you like.

NoelNoNoel · 02/12/2022 15:44

Meeting up with my friends.
Going to the cinema.
Coastal walks
Time on my own in or out of the house.

FB546 · 02/12/2022 15:49

The gym, specifically group exercise classes. I think it is the structure and routine that helps.

Oddly, I also like organising and tidying, I am no Marie Kondo but the twice yearly wardrobe switch over definitely brings joy!

ILiveInSalemsLot · 02/12/2022 15:51

A clean, relaxing home.
Books
Films
Walks
Meeting up with Friends
Meeting up with Family
Days out

Angelofthenortheast · 02/12/2022 15:56

Aerobics and yoga classes at the gym.

StrictlyAFemaleFemale · 02/12/2022 16:01

Jump.
Singing loudly in the car.
Good day at work.
Tidying.
The youtube channel of a Dutch florist. Don't understand a word but my god it's hypnotic and relaxing.

That sounds interesting and new, which youtube channel is that?

I like metalsmithing (mostly making silver jewelry).

I love streaming fast upbeat music through my headphones while going for a brisk 5 mile walk.

I love a bargain and recently got a huge kick out of finding a place where I could get a coffee / tea + a refill for less than £1.50. Bang in Central London too!

I love talking to people as well. I know it's a very unmumsnet thing and people here will be totally horrified and aghast, but I'll often talk to men (women too) on the tube, train, at bus stops or in the streets.

I love new experiences and adventures and will always make a point of going down a street I haven't been down before or sometimes popping inside a church, art gallery, etc to have a good look.

I love a good smile! I often smile at people and love when they smile back.

You sound like the kind of person I would love to know.

Ohmygoshposh · 02/12/2022 17:12

Cycling (road & mountain biking)
horse riding
long walks in countryside with podcasts
gardening
running /ParkRun
see friends
baking
browse charity shops for bargains

openinggambit · 02/12/2022 17:34

Walking with friends (enjoy the fresh air and a good gossip so don't notice the miles slipping by) it also enables me to maintain a bit of fitness.
Going out for coffee and cake
Spending time with dogs (not got one at the moment so I go for walks with dog owning friends)
I've recently started decorating my house which gives me some satisfaction. Tin of paint doesn't cost much and it's nice to have a change.

Etinoxaurus · 02/12/2022 17:41

All of the above. I’ve turned into a chatty old lady and talk to strangers! Also swishy clothes. Fun furs, snappy boots, clothes with animals on Blush
I thought my heart would burst with joy just yesterday when DH, Ddog and I took different routes and I ended up skipping over rocks and eddies along the beach to join them. I felt about 12 (not 53 😂)

BatshitCrazyWoman · 02/12/2022 17:54

Singing! On my own, having lessons, or in a choir. Coffee and a chat with a friend. Losing myself in a book. Cinema.

Running
Cinema trips
Eating out

bloodywhitecat · 02/12/2022 18:31

My fosterlings and ex fosterlings. I had a wonderful update earlier this week from a little one we thought we never walk or talk and they were running down the path shouting "Lights on! Lights on!" at the sight of some Christmas lights.

Shitfather · 02/12/2022 18:35

I’ve had an absolutely torrid year. Hot yoga is the things that brought me daily joy. I love the space, my teachers, the friends I’ve made, how my body has become stronger.
My shower and bed bring me peace and a feeling of protection at the end of the day.

saveforthat · 02/12/2022 18:42

Tap dancing! Brilliant fun. Just restarted along with other oldies after a gap of 40 years! Also walking my dog on the beach every day and baths by candlelight with real candles listening to a ghost story on bbc sounds with chocolate and a tot of rum. I recently bought a new bathtub rack to organise all my snacks etc.

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/12/2022 18:42

Time with friends

time in nature

sex

Listening to music

A good book

being in the flow for anything - from a great chat with someone to a work project really singing

swimming in the sea

Increasingly, and surprisingly, exercise (weights in the gym 😳)

live music

events like festivals

family Christmas

Old friends at new year

Luredbyapomegranate · 02/12/2022 18:42

openinggambit · 02/12/2022 18:46

I forgot my favourite thing of all....going to the seaside 😃

ladygindiva · 02/12/2022 18:47

Go for a run. Play piano (I'm good and love it). Sketch or paint ( I'm crap but still love it and harbour fantasies of being good one day). Potter in the garden.
