It’s Friday for one, and I’m looking forward to DH returning home after 2 weeks away. I’m having Christmas friends over for dinner next week at mine for first time since pre Covid. And…dare I say it, I’m actually quite looking forward to the H&M doc on Netflix😂

Christmas friends? Let me make it clear, they’re not elves. That should have said friends over for Christmas 😉

I’m mostly looking forward to my antibiotics working on my chest infection, and it’s my birthday on Sunday so that’ll be good although had to cancel a lot of stuff because of the infection 😕

My partner having the weekend off work to spend time as a family and I get some much needed help with the kids! With the cost of living rising he's been working lots of hours and we've hardly seen each other for months.

MinnieMountain · 02/12/2022 06:29

I’m seeing a friend tomorrow after multiple attempts being scuppered by rail strikes.

FancyFelix · 02/12/2022 06:30

Just the weekend is enough for me!

Also doing some baking for the school fair which I always enjoy - the baking, not the fair!

Northernsoullover · 02/12/2022 06:30

Seeing my new squeeze later. Honeymoon period is well under way.

ShadowPuppets · 02/12/2022 06:32

I’m getting my hair cut and coloured this afternoon - sorely needed at 6 months post partum (not going to lie, a couple of hours break from the kids is also a reason I’m looking forward to it 😂)

Local Dickensian evening tonight. First since Covid.
Bingo Lingo and Christmas fun with the girls tomorrow evening.
DD’s Christmas concert next week.
Christmas curry with some old friends next week.
Loads really! I do like to line up my social occasions.

oh, and a whole fortnight off over Christmas. First time ever.

Slowdayinfleetstreetisit · 02/12/2022 06:46

me too, I can’t wait to finish for Christmas, it’s been such a stressful year at work.

I've got the day off work today and I'm heading to the shops with my mom in our nearest city. The Christmas market will be on. I haven't told my mom this but im going to treat her to lunch out because she has gone over and above helping me with DS this week whilst I've had to work a lot (single parent). Then tonight it's the Christmas light switch on in our town! I feel all warm and glowy with happiness about this day. It's been a stressful week to get to this point and I intend to enjoy every second!

RhubarbFairy · 02/12/2022 07:01

I'm meeting a friend for coffee tomorrow afternoon.

AutumnOcean · 02/12/2022 07:03

I'm looking forward to celebrating my birthday with my husband and young children, with a cake at the beach tomorrow evening. The ocean is my happy place.

Ciri · 02/12/2022 07:04

I had various plans but then covid hit yesterday and I feel horrendous

Gufo · 02/12/2022 07:14

Weirdly looking forward to preparing for a job interview in the hope I can quit my job. Would normally feel like a chore!

Alicesweewonders · 02/12/2022 07:18

When the kids go to bed and I get to sit down with a cup of tea in peace & quite.

Bliss.

Theredjellybean · 02/12/2022 07:20

I'm looking forward to my first cup of coffee this morning and a trip to hairdressers later.
Simple things

Making some advent cookies for the tree

ifonly4 · 02/12/2022 07:40

A colleague has invited me over for coffee this morning and to see her new house. She's nice and her house looks lovely so looking forward to that.

Also, hopefully staying at home tomorrow - it's the only day I don't work.

Oh no, I hope you get better soon.

It’s Friday for one! I am on the social team at work and have organised a festive day, with hot chocs for everyone, mince pies and shortbread in the kitchens. Putting the tree up and having the Christmas radio on.

Tomorrow we are putting out tree up at home which will be nice and on Sunday me and DS will watch some Christmas films.

This all sounds lovely

I bought mince pies yesterday, they're banned from the house til the 1st December.

Had one last night and it was lovely, so really looking forward to an afternoon coffee and a mince pie - the lattice ones from iceland, wasn't sure how good they'd be, but it was the only shop I had time to go to yesterday and they're 'chef's kiss'!

FlamingJingleBells · 02/12/2022 08:43

Looking forward to my free Costa gingerbread latte via my points later on. Off into town for some shopping for ds birthday; who decided to arrive inconveniently early the week before Christmas 10 yrs ago. Might buy myself some jeans and a top as well.

FlamingJingleBells · 02/12/2022 08:45

@InconvenientPeg iceland mince pies are the only shop bought ones I can stomach now. I think it's because they don't use palm oil in their own brand foods.

I bought some freshly baked ones from Greggs and they were lovely and warm straight from the oven. Came in a little blue box of six by the counter.

CharlotteStreet · 02/12/2022 08:51

I've got lots to look forward to but for now I'm looking forward to my colleague's posh birthday party tomorrow - an excuse to dress up 😊
