National Grid energy reduction at peak times

Has anyone else signed up to this scheme with their energy supplier? We did our first attempt yesterday (& hit target) and am gearing up for 5-6pm tonight! It’s really made me think about how wasteful we as a household can be and going forward I hope to be more conscious of our usage. The DC have bought into the challenge too which I’m really pleased about.

How is everyone else finding it?

Yes. We have turned it into a fun time with the DC, having a picnic, usb disco lights only and main lights off. Don’t think it saves much overall but the shift works.

We have been given a bonus each time, which is nice.

I wish we could!
We are with bulb who have just been bought by octopus.
Can you still sign up now?

I'm on my third session with Octopus now, apparently last week we saved enough electricity to boil the kettle 965,000 times!

There is a whole thread of us on Octopus Savings 😀some save more than others. We don't usually use much atbthe times chosen anyway but we are still doing it.
We usually have the hour by candlelight with the fire lit.

Thanks I'll have a look. I've got my Seychelles candle on tonight, smells lovely!
