Get rid of new air fryer smell?

I just bought a Daewoo dual basket fryer and did a trial cook of fish fingers in one basket. It stinks of burnt plastic so I threw them away. I washed the baskets and trivets before use and washed them again. How do I get rid of this foul smell please?

Did you put it on for 10/15 minutes at 200° before you tried using food in it?

The manual with mine advised to do that to burn off the factory smell.

No. My manual didn't say what to do; just said it might smell a bit at first. I just put it on for 20 minutes but wrong temperature - 185 degrees- as I haven't worked the machine out yet. It truly stank again!

I had this problem with my soup maker and never managed to fix it. Washed in bicarb, lemon juice, many many cleaning cycles- still sinks. Haven't made one non-stinky soup.

Let me know if anything works on your air fryer and I'll try it too!
