What do you write in your Christmas cards?

As title really.

I'm just in the process of writing out about a dozen or so cards to people I like, but don't see very much. The list has been slimmed down considerably from previous years, but I find myself writing the same thing in them all.

Just "Best wishes for the Festive Season from Mary and John" or similar.

What do you write in yours ... Do you add all the names of the family in question as well and your names and the dog? Is there an etiquette to this that I haven't picked up on? I need some inspiration?

Dear xxx, Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, All the Best, (and then all our names - it pissed me off being relegated to 'and family' when I was a kid 😁)

Generally the cards have the greeting in so just ‘To X’ love from (or just ‘from’ depending) then our names.

I hate doing them and wish I could knock it on the head TBH it’s all pointless.

We tend to write something personal to the recipients, even if it’s just a shared joke. We only send about 25 and have a ritual of taking them to a particular pub to write one evening, so it really doesn’t feel like a chore.

“Wishing you a Happy Christmas and all the best for the coming year,

my name, husbands name, and the boys.”

I send very few cards these days though.

To e.g. Sue, Jim, named dcs and named dog(s) if applicable
Happy Christmas!

With love from Getting and MrGetting, and family (what with Gdcs there are many now to mention by name, but when dds were younger I used to name them)
Plus one X each
