Anyone else limping towards their time off over Christmas?

It's all I can think about, must be a bit burnt out.

Everyday I hope it's the weekend and I can't wait for some proper time off over Christmas.

I don't think I usually feel like this so wondered if others felt the same?

Same here. I am so run down; my nails keep breaking which is v disappointing. I've got a cold I can't shake (or it keeps coming back!). I just want to rest! I love my job as well so it's not that I'm fed up per se.

Same here. I start a new role on the 12th (I'm in my leave period in my other job) which will be busy and I'll be learning an entirely new role in a new sector and then off for a week and a half until early January. It feels so fragmented and I can't wait for a stretch of non-working time.

Me too. I work in a secondary school. It's mock exams and I m burning out due to a cold and cough I have been stuck with since mid November.
It's dark all the time when I get home.
15 school days to go.
I don't like Autumn Term, it's so long.

Yes!

After today, I have 9 more working days, then off until the start of Jan.

Absolutely counting down the minutes.

thecatsthecats · 01/12/2022 09:20

Forget counting sleeps.

Every morning I wake up and think "8 more wake ups, 7 more wake ups".

I'm really lucky though - I'm off for 18 days straight. I'm going into a coma directly on the 16th.

TheFeistyFeminist · 01/12/2022 09:21

Totally. We've had a lot of bad news / stressful times related to things family and friends are going through, and some stuff of our own. Definitely looking forward to some down time over Christmas though ironically, work is actually ok and it's home life that's been hard so I can't guarantee it's going to be without drama.

Schoolstresses · 01/12/2022 09:24

I can't wait.

Its been such a busy year.

I had Covid 2 weeks ago and have the fatigue that lasted a few months last time I had it 😥

Every day when I start work, I cant wait for the day to be over.

warofthemonstertrucks · 01/12/2022 09:25

I wished I had some. Social care. We don't get leave over Christmas :( I'm exhausted, this year more than ever before.

TheTurn0fTheScrew · 01/12/2022 09:26

christ yes. NHS. Service under extreme pressure (not winter urgent care, more political/longer term than that). I have several health problems all coming to a head at once, one potentially significant. I am very fortunate to be off work from 19th-28th and I cannot wait to rest. I hope those who won't be able to get time off over Christmas have a break to look to forward to soon Flowers

FrauleinEngelhart · 01/12/2022 09:28

NHS too. Working boxing day and NYE in amongst my usual shifts so no change.

EweCee · 01/12/2022 09:31

God yes! I tick every 'symptom' of the habitually burnt out and have done for months. Gotten worse recently with stress at home and I spend 3/5 of each weekday wanting to cry and then the weekends in bed (after playing mum taxi/ jobs etc). And the kicker is this week I found out I have to fight for my job... the one that pays all our bills so I can't just walk away 😭

21 days until some time off....
