Does your meter say m3 or cb ft on the front?
Which of those digits are in red?

AtomicBlondeRose · 30/11/2022 18:51

A photo would be really useful!

Gas meters don't display kWh, it needs converting.

Assuming metric meter, and readings of
26903.385
26904.000

You have used 0.615m3 of gas.
To convert m3 to kWh, a decent conversion (you can be more acurate with the figures on the bill) is to multiply by 11.2.

So, 6.888kWh of gas used.
At 10.3/kWh, about 70p

Wow, thank you so much. I was trying to use online calculators and some of the estimates were scaring me to death. I’m going to try and find out how much one heater is now costing me for the next hour (7 until 8) so I may return for another calculation.
Times are hard and this is what I’m resorting to…

I’m back again to see if you can help me work out this as I keep fucking up the calculation…

26904.000
26947.415

its metric m3 and rate is 10.3

I calculated around £45 but that seems low so I think I’ve done something incorrect.

Yeah, that's about right. It's very roughly a pound a m3 so I'm fairly confident you've calculated it correctly.
There will be some standing charges and VAT to add on. Maybe another £10.

Thanks again. I’ve cracked it now. :)
