Didn’t change my name. 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 times easier.

Some people want to change there name and I was one of those. For deeply personal reasons and also i like having the same name as my husband.

Some people don't want to change their name and thats fine too. Each to their own.

Thanks for all the tips and advice everyone.
I have a very unusual surname and I always was sick of spelling it out, I really like having a more normal name now lol

If a man posted this he would say he wanted to keep his name as it was so unique and special!

Mine was pretty happy to ditch his!

My husband wasn’t going to renew his EU country passport (it had 8 years left), but he lost it, it’s expensive just for the sake of a name.

Approx 90% of those that do are women. Extremely rare that a man does. Funny that. (Not funny at all given the roots of the practice.)

It took me nine years to change mine and I still had to carry my old one for four more years as my American visa was in it! I still haven’t changed my credit card over because they won’t do it unless I send my marriage certificate, and that bugs me because my bank have already seen it. Oh and I got a tax refund in my old name this year, after 15 years of marriage! No idea how as I’ve been called my married name at all jobs!
