Looking at one of these for DH for jigsaws. Does anyone have one? Are they any good? It's hard to see which ones are best as there are several that say 1000 piece puzzles but they vary a lot in price.

I got this one during lockdown puzzle mania! It’s really good because the sorted pieces cling to the removable side panels. When it’s folded nothing moves.

Forgot photo, from Amazon

I've got one, it's great. I can't link to the exact one because I have had it for years, but its most like this one: Amazon Puzzle Board

I can sit on the sofa with it on my knee and the top bit folded downwards to that it reaches the floor and acts like a kind of table.

I've got one similar to, if not exactly the same as Smarticus. Been great, slots behind my sofa when not in use.

Thanks, they look good. We often get a jigsaw out over Christmas and I know DS has bought DH a new puzzle.
It seems it's worth getting one so the dining table isn't taken over.

We have that one too. Great for storing under the sofa

Definitely! My DC wouldn't be able to do any puzzles if we didn't have one. We've one like @Beebumble2 's also from Amazon but I don't think the same make. DC have managed to tear one of the Velcro tabs but it still works fine. They use it on the living room floor, their rooms, table when I'm with them etc and we always have a 1000 piece on the go.

ChristmasTidyings · 30/11/2022 16:49

Oh and we store it in the corner of the room standing on its edge.

If it's something that might bother you, the cheaper ones are probably made cheaply in Chinese factories and dropshipped. That means that the quality might be lower and there might be issues like the foams etc used may be cheaper - I don't know if there are any toxicity issues with these kinds of foams, I know that can be an issue for children's toys.

Basically because it's coming directly from the seller you bypass any of the EU/EEA safety laws that we take for granted because it doesn't go through the usual import process, and because the "brand" is completely disposable and doesn't have an image to protect. If they start to receive public complaints they simply delete the company and pop up under a new name. Their aim is basically to be the cheapest product on amazon when you search for "puzzle board" (or whatever).

Sometimes they come via a warehouse based in the UK or EU so you don't always have long delivery times as a warning either.

That’s where I keep mine 🤣

I have a zip up one - no need to store it flat as the zip is tight enough to hold it together so mine sits against wall behind sofa.

Thai one I think
