Surgery for arthritis in toe

Posting here for traffic: Arthritis in big toe called Hallux Rigidis requiring operation to fuse joint. Has anyone had this surgery - can you tell me what the recovery is like?

Your best bet is the Halux Rigidus Support Group on Facebook. Lots of experienced and knowledgeable people there. There is also one called Hallux Rigidus Science and Support.

Good luck with everything. I have this very badly in both feet but am avoiding surgery at the moment. Don't rush to fusion if you've not tried everything else first. The Facebook groups are brilliant. Loads of advice so even if you don't have FB it's worth joining for them. All the best.
