Tonie box for a 5 year old

Hi can anyone help. I'm looking for something for my 5 year old to help her relax before bed. I can't decide between the Tonie and the Yoto box. I know she would like the characters of the Tonie but will it last? Could anyone advise what their 5 year olds use? Thanks

Mine have an Alexa and they play relaxing sounds on jt - I've never thought tonies look very future proof and if only cost £18

We bought the Tonie box last Christmas and my 4 and 5.5 year old love it and use it every night. I did think it was a lot of money but it’s been worth it. Can’t comment on the Yoto.

I’ve got both and yoto is definitely better for longevity. Cards are cheaper and much more variety. I’ve got a referral code if you want it- gets you 10% off prz.io/0zY0LnZUl

I asked the very same question 😁consensus seems to be Yoto.

Thanks- I know she would love the characters of the Tonie now- I just don't want her to grow out of it fast. I didn't want an Alexa as didn't want her to be able to access anything else.

I have a tonie but I think yoto is better. More functions, cheaper stories, more variety. I do love the tonie anyway though. Each story is literally double the price of a yoto

Hi @SalviaOfficinalis oh sorry didn't see your thread in my search. Oh really thanks I'll read through.

Oh my dp mentioned kids Alexa which has no shopping etc functionality - just stories etc. I’m tempted

Tomorrowisalatterday · 29/11/2022 20:01

For a 5 year old, the yoto has way more content and the podcasts etc

For a younger child, I think the Toniebox is easier to use

We have the yoto players and both kids have loved them (ages 2 and 6). They have loads of different types of cards, different stories for different ages/sleeping songs/piano music for bed. Also have been great for travel as keeps the kids occupied without using a screen.

HauntedPencil · 29/11/2022 20:03

Yes think you can set it up like that - I've not done that and they only tend to play music listen to relaxing sounds on there! I don't really use it for audio books though so maybe that's an issue but you probably could.

I find tonie great, if you buy of tonie site you get a code to pass on every time some one uses it you get £15 off a tonie so only pay postage which brings price down if you put code on social media , helps. Here’s mine if you would like to use,
£15 off new tonie box if any one needs a code, just copy and paste in basket on tonie site thanks
rft-lx5-1yx-b9z can be used more than once so happy for more than one to use
