I poured boiling water over my hand about an hour ago. I got it under the cold water quickly. It is now hurting quite a lot which I believe is a good sign. I don't need to get this checked out do I?

A burn (or scald from hot water) that is red with no blisters or broken areas is called a superficial burn - sunburn is a good example. These burns can be very painful for a ridiculously long time. Cooling the area for much longer than you may believe (20 mins) in cool not ice cold water is important.
Covering with clog fold may help reduce the pain from the air brushing against it. Take paracetamol or whatever your go to painkiller is.

That’s a scald not a deep burn so whilst it may be painful it will quickly heal. Keep it out of hot water until tomorrow.

No Dr will give you anything for that its superficial. No blister or broken skin. Chemist might give you some Salve. Keep it cool and get some aloe on it.

Excellent, thanks didn't want to go to miu. I have run under cold water for a while. I will get some cling film.
