Gall bladder removal

I had my gall bladder removed as an emergency 2 days ago. Just wondering how everyone else was feeling at this point or any tips/tricks you learned living without it!

Amazon prime some laxatives. You're going to need them 😂

After a week in bed on codeine they were a godsend.

Living without is easy peasy, eat what you like without agonising pain. If you have something mega greasy you might have 'loose stools' but nothing major.

Took about 10 -14 days till I could bend without twinging so take it easy and don't try to lift anything really heavy but overall I was amazed by how quickly I felt better.

Mine was taken out as an emergency too, gallbladder got infected so I was in hospital for 5 days, had a drain fitted for a couple of days after the surgery so had to wait till that could come out.

Honestly life after removal is way better than before.

Had mine out just over 2 weeks ago, I have 2 small children and 2 older ones, my eldest bought me a litter picker style stick as a joke, I have used it loads to save bending to much!

My tip is to never eat bacon unless you know there is a loo nearby. I still love bacon, but take precautions before consuming.

(having mine removed was still one of my better decisions)

I had mine removed years ago. I haven't had any issues.
