How long as you supposed to run dehumidifier?

Are these supposed to be on day and night? Or a few hours? I’m unsure. Mine is quite noisy and annoying so I don’t really want it on all day but is that necessary? I brought a Meaco 10 litre on eBay,

My LEC one has a 2,4,6 and 8 hour setting so assume it can run for 8 hours no problem. I shut mine in the utility with the washing and 8 hours seems to dry it. But then I forget about it and wander in a day later!

I think the idea is you run it until the humidity reaches the desired level - I assume yours has a display showing the humidity level in the room? 30 - 60 is supposed to be OK. I'm running mine until it gets below 60 at the moment, once I'm there I will lower the 'target' a bit.

I think you're supposed to run them constantly for the first 24 - 48 hrs, then a few hours a day. Ours measures the humidity and cuts off when it reaches the setting we select.
