Our washing machine squeaked for a bit, I think it was rubbing against something when it was rattling.

Can you speak to them? Record the sound or invite them to come round and listen to it- it might be something they're aware of but don't realise you can hear.

Is it only at night? Might be one of those CPAC machines? My dad’s makes that kind of noise.

we had similar and it drove me mad. Turned out the teenager next door had got a 3D printer for Christmas.
