If you're getting married in the next 3 years, what are you planning?

We're so torn. We had accepted it was going to be a fortune, but the actual quotes are astronomical. We had hoped to pay 20k all in.

We don't know what way to go. No one does DIY weddings here. We've both only been to the standard hotel dos, so I'm worried about looking cheap. We're also a little bit older, so feel like we have to reciprocate all of our friends' generosity at their weddings. They've also all got families which makes something mad like 30 children on a provisional guest list.

Eloping for this very reason. We just can't justify the cost and we'll get the honeymoon the same time.

It's looking more appealing. How are you organising that?

We've used a wedding planner in Cyprus. They are dealing with all the legal paperwork and will act as witnesses. It just seems like the hassle free option plus a holiday!
