Crafting question - gold lacquer for clay items

Hello! I know there's a craft section but there's hardly anyone there!
I am looking for a lacquer that I can use to paint air dry clay items that obviously won't go in the over. I'd love to achieve max coverage and max shine! Would really appreciate some advice on this. Thanks so much!

You could use acrylic paint then varnish it with Mod Podge - you can get it in a matt or shiny finish.

I use gold paint from Cass art and then regular varnish for my finish. If it's something quite small, I use nail varnish.
