London Theatre Show for 11 year old?

Looking for recommendations for a theatre show to take 11 year old DS to (tickets will be his Christmas present). He absolutely loved both The Lion King and Matilda The Musical. He has a good attention span and reasonably mature attitude. He doesn't find scary movies problematic (never been to a scary theatre show though).

Any recommendations of great shows for that age group?

My son has enjoyed Wicked, Hamilton & actually really liked Frozen. Wicked is a great musical to see if he enjoyed Matilda and the Lion king!

Mary Poppins was brilliant and is finishing on 8th January, so if you can go before then I’d recommend it. Otherwise, Wicked or Back to the Future

I saw Les Mis at around that age and was absolutely awestruck

If The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is still on that was brilliant, my son loved it.

&juliet (closes March I think) is absolutely brilliant. It's funny and modern and a jukebox musical so songs may be familiar.

Or back to the future, fantastic special effects and you don't need to have seen the film. I'd go for the "fly zone" if you can afford it or front row of the dress circle.

My then 11yr old enjoyed &Juliet last Xmas. It is very silly and as @itsalldowntome says he'll know the songs.

Ooh, thanks everyone! I will see what tickets I can find. I never would've considered Back to the Future because he hasn't seen the film but if it's standalone that would be a great shout!

He wants to see the Harry Potter Play having finally read all the books but I think he is on the young side for that (plus it's ££££)

The Play that Goes Wrong is brilliant and perfect for an 11yo.
