Did an online shop, delivered Thursday. Just got the mince out of tge fridge snd it has yesterdays date, as does the pack of chicken thighs. Mince was for today, chicken for tomorrow.

I'd eat the chicken today and mince tomorrow

thirstyformore · 27/11/2022 13:49

Or maybe cook the mince today as well and reheat tomorrow

LadyKenya · 27/11/2022 13:55

Yes, unless the pack is all bloated, or it smells.

Can I ask where you bought it? I had a delivery from Asda on Thursday and the use by dates were awful

SomeoneFireKwaziiKitten · 27/11/2022 13:57

Yep, I’d use the chicken today provided it smells ok (although I never find thighs smell great tbh) and the mince in the next day or two. Or I’d throw it in the freezer.

Iloveacurry · 27/11/2022 14:00

Cook both and reheat one tomorrow.

barskits · 27/11/2022 14:02

Give them both a good sniff and if they smell ok, cook rather thoroughly today and reheat tomorrow.

I'm betting that the mince is off by now. That tends to turn first because of the large surface area.

This is what I would do

barskits · 27/11/2022 14:31

Whenever I buy mince I always freeze it straight away, and get it out again on the day it is needed.

olympicsrock · 27/11/2022 15:38

Cook both today
