Mirena coil removal

I'm mid-forties & have had a mirena coil in for 5yrs, it needs to be removed now. I've recently started experiencing cramping & occasionally bleeding which I guess is a sign of the hormones reducing.
I had a regular coil previously, but my monthly bleeding was huge. I was anaemic too. So I swapped to the mirena. Its worked well for me but I'm so worried about hormonal changes when I have it removed. I don't want to go back to bleeding that much every month either!
Has anyone had one removed whilst perimenopausal? And if so what did you do next?

Yep, and had another inserted at the same time. I only had the initial bleeding with the Mirena with my first, the subsequent replacements I just had mild cramping and bleeding for a few days then back to no period for the next 5 yrs. Maybe others had different in this situation though, no idea, Mirena seems to be different with everyone.
