We are making gingerbreads

we will also play in the garden in the mud kitchen

Taking my 6 year old to see the new Matilda film with her friend. Today we made hot chocolate stirrers, essentially melted chocolate and mixed woth marshmallows, added lolly sticks, and wrapped as Xmas presents for family.

DD is 6. We bake every Sunday so I think it will be fairy cakes tomorrow decorated with dolly mixtures. Usually we also go swimming on a Sunday but my eldest has something on tomorrow so will have a week off of that and I will probably play dolls then watch a film with her while her brother is out.

5 yr old. Quiet day at home with her toys. Tv will be on most of day with my boxsets and then a couple of films to watch with DD. She'll be on her kindle no doubt here and there.

Busy day today so always like a proper pazy day to recharge on the weekend

Lndnmummy · 26/11/2022 20:57

Its first of advent so we get the christmas decorations out and clear out the boys room for outgrown clothes/toys. And a birthday party.

i love just being at home on Sundays. Batch cook, iron uniforms, catch up in home work, baking

I'm taking DD2 (and her elder sister) to a museum tomorrow as there's an exhibit there that relates to a topic they're doing in history at the moment. It also gets us out of the house for a little while. If we don't manage to mobilise ourselves for that then we may go to the cinema instead.

Walk, roast dinner then church. Love Sundays 😊

Labraradabrador · 26/11/2022 20:59

Honestly? Watching lots of Netflix and hoping to avoid too many meltdowns. Everyone is miserable with colds at the moment, so we are on the survival plan.

what I HAD planned for tomorrow was starting some Xmas decorations/ crafting. Nothing especially elaborate- painting pine cones with glitter glue, stringing up dried orange slices, making homemade ornaments.

Zoo

If you are in a rut, I recommend subscription boxes - we have done curiosity box, mud and bloom and koala crate. I tend to store them up and then break them out on rainy days when I am feeling uninspired.

mine love crafting, so we have a well stocked crafting corner (conveniently next to the recycling bins) that they use independently, or sometimes we do a project together.

I also find that now they are in school (currently y1) they have very little time to play with their toys, so actually they are happy playing and don’t need a lot of structure on Sundays.

Swapshopped · 26/11/2022 21:16

we’re off to the woods tomorrow to hit the ‘Tarzan’ swings over the stream and den build. It’s been a long week of sick bugs and injuries. 5 year old has other ideas though and wants to stay home and watch Bluey 🙄

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 26/11/2022 21:26

Depends how old, I guess, but find mine are starting to want to watch more grown up stuff on iPlayer. The twins are getting into Worst Witch now which is a bit more grown up than their other staples of Peter Rabbit, Numberblocks, Bluey etc.

First day of advent so church, then making the Christmas pud and a chilli jam for Christmas presents with friends, meeting Santa, and then cooking for the friends for dinner.
